ISLAMABAD: Parting ways with Maulana Fazlur Rehman. Senator Talha Mahmood, of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), has announced his inclusion in the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad alongside PPP leaders Nayar Bukhari, Faisal Kareem Kundi, and others, Senator Talha Mahmood revealed that he had been invited to join the PPP during a meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari a week ago.
“I formally announce my inclusion in the Pakistan Peoples Party. I have never been affiliated with any party before. In 2006, I contested on the ticket of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam and have remained with them since,” he stated.
Senator Talha Mahmood highlighted the economic woes and political conditions confronting Pakistan, emphasizing the collective effort required to overcome the challenges.

He mentioned his tenure on the Senate’s Interior Committee for nine years, his chairmanship of the Senate’s largest committee in 2021, and the establishment of the Federal Ministry of State and Frontier Regions in 2022.
“My life is an open book to you all. I have endeavored to lead a transparent and upright life,” he expressed.
“In eighteen years, I never took a salary or any perks from the Pakistani government. I have contributed to Pakistan’s betterment. Pakistan needs individuals who can work at the national level. In the current circumstances, no party appears better than the PPP. I have joined the PPP, and they have honored me,” he added.
