Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Fawad denied bail

LAHORE: In a significant development concerning the May 9 cases, an anti-terrorism court in Lahore dismissed bail petitions for Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Fawad Chaudhry on Saturday.

Judge Abhar Gul presided over the hearing of the May 9 cases in the Lahore anti-terrorism court. The court ordered the cancellation of bail for Qureshi and Fawad Chaudhary due to their non-compliance with the cases.

It is noteworthy that Qureshi is presently detained in Adiala Jail on judicial remand in the cipher case.

Six cases have been filed against Qureshi, including the Askari Tower and Jinnah House ransacking case.

On Wednesday, a special court sent PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi to judicial remand in Adiala Jail in the cipher case. The PTI leader was presented before the Official Secrets Act court after a two-day physical remand previously granted to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
