Sher Afzal Marwat needs to respect party discipline

Sher Afzal Marwat

WEB DESK: Rubbishing rumours about discord between the party members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), senior member Shaukat Yusufzai said that all workers are aligned and Swabi protest is a testimony to that. He also said that while MNA Sher Afzal Khan Marwat is a good worker, he tends to get very emotional and needs to respect the party discipline.

“He is very brave and often takes bold steps but gets in hot waters because of his temperament, which he needs to work on,” he said.

Commenting about the turnout on Hum News Subah Say Agay, he said that government’s failure was evident because the public had rejected the ‘blatant propaganda’.

Swabi protest: Junaid Akbar asks PTI workers for rally headcount

“I do not think we owe the number of attendees to anyone. The ground was filled with our supporters, as was the stage and the roads. It’s a pity to reduce a historic jalsa to a few thousands,” he said.

Yusufzai added that those who said that people will not come after November 26, 2024 have been proven wrong because the people are even willing to march to D-Chowk if asked of them.

He added that instead of shifting the onus of security concerns on the KP government, perhaps the Punjab government should assess if there is a risk of terrorism in the province due to which PTI is not being allowed to hold protests there: “If there are no security risks in Punjab, then political protests should be allowed.”

Referring to the protest reported demanded by PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Akbar about the turnout, Yusufzai said that it is being done to ascertain the hard work done by the party members.

“Many a time, some members would just show up, address the crowd and leave while other party workers who work hard and struggle so not get the credit they deserve, so this measure will ensure that they also get some spotlight and this is being highly appreciative within the cadre,” he shared.

He also confirmed that a grand alliance within the opposition is going to be formed soon, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman reiterates the same.
