Zardari-Nawaz meeting likely today

DUBAI: Former president and co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari, and three-time former prime minister Nawaz Sharif are poised for a meeting in Dubai according to sources.

The meeting scheduled at a private hotel for this evening, will focus on the future course of political actions of the two rivals-turned-allies including deliberations on Pakistan’s economic predicament.

Zardari is anticipated to table his proposal concerning the Charter of Economy, advocating for a unified economic agenda amongst all political parties in Pakistan to stabilise the national economy sources in PPP informed.

PPP co-chairman and foreign minister, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and chief organiser of PML-N, Maryam Nawaz Sharif will also be in attendance.

Nawaz Sharif, who has recently touched down in the city has been accorded special protocol by the Dubai government and is scheduled to engage with important personalities there.
