HUM SE ZINDAGI – Promoting women’s well-being

HNL’s digital platform Spotlight launches a new show focused on women’s health awareness.

The lack of healthcare facilities in Pakistan is a challenge the country has been facing for many years, particularly in the realm of women’s healthcare – not only in rural areas but in cities as well. This situation not only affects women but also puts a strain on the overall well-being of the population. Improving healthcare, infrastructure, resources and policies is crucial to addressing these challenges and ensure a healthier future for all Pakistanis. But equally important is the availability of experienced well-educated doctors in the country, who can make informed decisions and give accurate diagnosis and treatments. Their knowledge and expertise help ensure continuing the cycle of improving healthcare standards.

Fortunately, there are a few experienced women gynecologists still in Karachi who are actively working towards the health concerns of women, particularly those related to reproductive systems and childbirth. Among them, one of the most famous and trusted names is Dr Khurshid Jahan Noorani, who is a Consultant Obstetrics, Gynaecologist, Hysteroscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeon. She is ex-Dean of Faculty of Obstetrics and Gynaecologists, College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan and ex-Head of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, Karachi.

To take advantage of Dr. Khurshid Jahan Noorani’s expertise and experience, we curated a show including series of discussion on women’s health and well-being on the digital platform Spotlight titled ‘HUM SE ZINDAGI’. Famous actress and host Ghazal Siddiqui has performed the duties of hosting this important programme.

In this eleven-episode series, Dr. Noorani discusses the long-standing and complex problems of women and gives satisfactory answers based on her decades of experience.

Through this programme, women will not only be aware of the nuances of their current problems and their causes but will also be able to prevent future problems.
