Sindh Food Authority’s major operation in Hyderabad: Over 6,000 kg of hazardous pickles seized from factory


Karachi, November 13, 2024: A Sindh Food Authority team, led by Deputy Director Faisal Soomro, conducted a raid on a factory in Mehran Town, during which over 6,000 kg of rotten and fungus-infested pickles were seized. The Food Authority team discarded the contaminated pickles, imposed a fine of Rs 300,000 on the factory owner, and suspended the factory’s production.

Director General of Sindh Food Authority, Muzammil Hussain Halepoto, stated that the pickles in the factory were heavily infested with fungus, insects, and flies and were intended to be distributed in the market despite their harmful condition. The Food Authority immediately sealed the factory, and the entire batch of pickles has been discarded. Muzammil Hussain Halepoto added that Food Authority teams across the province are active day and night, taking strict action against those who endanger public health.
