Sindh Home Minister explores Huawei’s Innovations in China for Karachi Safe City Project


Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjhar visited the headquarters of Huawei Technology Limited in China today. He was accompanied by Muhammad Iqbal Memon, Additional Chief Secretary (Home), SP Ahmed Chaudhry, PSO to the Minister for Home & Law, DIG Asif Aijaz Sheikh, Director General Sindh Safe Cities Authority, Bilaluddin Sheikh, Planning, Policy & Coordination Specialist (Home Department), Ms. Tabassum Abbasi, Chief Technical Officer, Sindh Safe Cities Authority, and other officials.

The purpose of this visit was to evaluate and review the equipment required for the Karachi Safe City Project and hold meetings with senior officials of Huawei. It is worth mentioning that Huawei Technology Limited is supplying equipment for the Karachi Safe City Project. Recognized as one of the world’s leading companies, Huawei’s equipment is in high demand globally.

During the visit, Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar inspected Huawei’s Dongguan R&D City, where he was shown demonstrations of medium and small-sized drones and other security-related advanced technologies. These innovations can play a significant role in promoting technological advancement in Sindh. The home minister Ziaual Hasan Lanjar said that this is the vision of President Asif Ali Zardari and the party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The minister appreciated Huawei’s technological capabilities and discussed future needs.

The provincial minister also visited Huawei’s LTE/Network Equipment assembly line. Huawei officials briefed him on how the latest automated processes ensure efficiency, accuracy, and high-quality production. Huawei officials highlighted that their world-class technology is well-suited for projects like the Safe City initiative.

This visit is being hailed as a key milestone in promoting technology in Pakistan and ensuring the success of the Karachi Safe City Project.
