Level I: Pool Round

Round 1: Spelling Basics

• All participants will be asked 5 words each.
• No negative marking if a word is spelt incorrectly.
• Participants cannot pass a word
• Assistance available:
  • The word will be pronounced multiple times.
  • Participants can ask for the word’s meaning or its origin.
  • Words will be presented in a complete sentence for context.

Selection Criteria: The Team with the highest score will advance to the next round. 

Level II: Regional Round

Round 1: Relay Spelling

• Each team gets a list of 10 words.
• Team members take turns spelling words, passing the turn to the next member after spelling one.
• The catch: only 30 seconds per word!
• Selection Criteria: The Team with the highest score will advance to the next round. 

Level III: Final Round

Round 1: The Ultimate Spelling Duel

• Participants take turns choosing from different word difficulty levels:
  • Easy (1 point)
  • Medium (2 points)
  • Hard (3 points)

• Each correct spelling earns points, but incorrect spellings result in a point deduction.
• The individual with the highest score at the end moves to round 2!

Round 2: The Final Challenge

• Participants will choose 1 theme, from which their final 10 words will be selected.
• All participants will be asked a total of 10 words.
• Words will increase in difficulty as the round progresses.
• The team with the highest score at the end wins the Spelling Whizz Competition.
