Spelling Basics
- •All participants will be asked 5 words each.
- •No negative marking if a word is spelt incorrectly.
- •Participants cannot pass a word.
- •Assistance available:
- •The word will be pronounced multiple times.
- •Participants can ask for the word’s meaning or its origin.
- •Words will be presented in a complete sentence for context.
Selection Criteria: The Team with the highest score will advance to the next round.
Regional Round
Relay Spelling
- •Each team gets a list of 10 words.
- •Team members take turns spelling words.
- •Only 30 seconds per word!
Selection Criteria: The Team with the highest score will advance to the next round.


Finale
Round 1: The Ultimate Spelling Duel
- Participants take turns choosing from different word difficulty levels:
- Easy (1 point)
- Medium (2 points)
- Hard (3 points)
- Each correct spelling earns points, but incorrect spellings result in a point deduction.
- The individual with the highest score at the end moves to round 2!
Round 2: The Final Challenge
- Participants will choose 1 theme, from which their final 10 words will be selected.
- All participants will be asked a total of 10 words.
- Words will increase in difficulty as the round progresses.
- The team with the highest score at the end wins the Spelling Whizz Competition.
