Bank Alfalah, IBA-CEJ held specialised training for digital media creators


KARACHI: Bank Alfalah partnered with Centre for Excellence in Journalism at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA-CEJ) to conduct EmpowerED, a specialised training programme aimed at capacity building of young digital media professionals.

Under this training programme, they jointly held a 5-days workshop to for content creators and young media professionals, to equip them with new skills and knowledge about financial and media practices.

The event brought together aspiring storytellers, influencers, journalists and banking professionals to learn new skills, explore digital trends and improve their storytelling abilities along with financial literacy.

The training offered a comprehensive curriculum focused on strengthening content creators’ skills in building a credible and safe digital presence.

Bank Alfalah is one of the largest banks in Pakistan, with a network of over 1100 branches across more than 200 cities in the country, and international presence in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bahrain and the UAE. The Bank also has a representative office in Abu Dhabi. Bank Alfalah is owned and operated by the Abu Dhabi Group. Incorporated as a public limited company on 21st June, 1992 under the Companies Act, 2017, Bank Alfalah commenced its banking operations in the same year.

The Center for Excellence in Journalism was set up at IBA in 2014 under a grant from the US State Department with the intention to set up a state-of-the-art training center to be used by journalists and journalism students. The four partners in this project were the US state department (funder), the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, Chicago and the IBA, Karachi.
