Afghanistan Versus Zimbabwe

ISLAMABAD: In the Afghanistan versus Zimbabwe one-off Test, the host team gained a commanding momentum after crushing the touring team for 127-run total in Harare on Sunday.

Earlier, Afghanistan opted to bat after winning the toss on day one, struggling to gain momentum as the host team’s bowlers (Blessing Muzarabani and Brad Evans) crushed the opening line. Meanwhile, Ibrahim Zadran who was the next batter came to provide a commanding score but was downed after 19-run brief resistance.  There came in seasoned batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz to show up his fullest at the crease, registering 37 runs total. Abdul Malik stepped in to push for a big total in their innings, however he was also crushed after pushing the total for 30-runs.

However, the Afghan middle batting order failed to stay for longer as wickets kept falling in quick succession. The lower order showed a little resistance, with the team collapsing within 33 overs.

Currently, Zimbabwe are standing at the crease as the Afghanistan second session is already ended. The host team have reached 3 without loss, trailing by 124 runs, with the side openers Brian Bennett and Ben Curran steady at the crease.

Zimbabwe have gained a commanding 86.8 per cent chance of victory, while Afghanistan stand at just 12.4 per cent after their early batting failure, according to live win probability.

Zimbabwe look to build a solid first-innings lead and strengthen their dominance in the one-off Test, as the white ball clash continued at the crease.
