LAHORE: Following the anticipated return of former vice-captain Shadab Khan to the Pakistan cricket team, recent retiree and all-rounder Imad Wasim is poised to follow suit.

In a statement to the media following a triumphant victory over Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League 9 (PSL 9), Imad Wasim expressed his readiness to rejoin the national team.

“I’ve made my name only playing for Pakistan,” Imad Wasim said, adding, “If the country requires my services, I am readily available. If not, I will still respect the decision without any grievances.”

He further disclosed that Shaheen Shah Afridi, the current T20 cricket team captain, had reached out to him following his retirement. Imad indicated his willingness to discuss the matter post the Super League commitments.

It’s worth noting that Imad Wasim had bid adieu to international cricket in November last year, deeming it an opportune moment to step back. He expressed gratitude to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and his fans for their unwavering support throughout his career.
