ALI KHAN CHEERS FOR TKR FROM THE STANDS

The four-time champions, the Trinbago Knight Riders, are back on home turf for the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League, and they’re calling on supporters to pack the stands at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.

Speaking to TTT Live media, Ali Khan said, “Yeah, we’re ready. We’ve been preparing well. This is our first home practice after a good tour on the road, two wins from three games. That’s a strong start, and we’re really looking forward to the home leg.”

He added, “They beat us in Antigua, so now it’s time to return the favor and get this win in front of our fans. The support from the crowd gives us that extra momentum we need.”

Although Khan hasn’t featured yet this season, he says he’s staying ready. He said, “I haven’t had the chance yet, but whenever the opportunity comes, I’ll be ready. I’m doing all the necessary preparation, and whenever the coach and captain call on me, I’ll be good to go.”

NEW LEADERS, FAMILIAR FACES

The CPL has seen some leadership changes this year. Jason Holder now leads the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, while the Saint Lucia Kings are without 2024 title-winning captain Faf du Plessis, who’s sidelined with a groin injury. David Wiese has taken the reins in his absence.

From Andre Russell to Sunil Narine, Colin Munro, Alex Hales, Imran Tahir, Moeen Ali, and Kieron Pollard, the CPL 2025 is stacked with T20 legends. One man chasing history is Shakib Al Hasan, who stands just two wickets away from the magical 500 T20 wickets milestone, a feat achieved by only a handful in cricket history.
