American footballer Khyree Jackson killed in car crash


PRINCE GEORGE: American footballer Khyree Jackson passed away at the age of 24 in a car accident early Saturday morning, the local law enforcement department reported.

The incident also claimed the lives of two others, including Jackson’s close friend Isaiah Hazel.

The car crash occurred around 3:14 am local time in Prince George county, Maryland with three vehicles involved.

Jackson was in a car with his friend and another person – Anthony Lytton Jr – when three cars collided. Jackson and Hazel were pronounced deceased at the scene, while Lytton later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.

The American footballer was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft a few months ago. He was known for his athleticism and potential in the professional scene.

The Minnesota Vikings released an official statement expressing deep sorrow over the player’s untimely death. The team also extended condolences to Jackson’s family and friends.

Khyree Jackson began his football career as a teenager. However, it was during his time at Oregon when his career began to flourish.

He has earned accolades as an “all-Pac-12” first-team selection in 2023.
