DUBAI: The anticipation for the Asia Cup 2025 reached new heights as the captains of the participating teams came together for a joint press conference in Dubai. The event, held ahead of the tournament’s official start, offered fans a glimpse into the mindset of the teams set to compete for cricketing supremacy in Asia.

In a grand ceremony, Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Mohsin Naqvi unveiled the highly anticipated Asia Cup trophy, marking the beginning of an exciting chapter in the region’s cricket calendar. The captains of all the teams participating in the 2025 edition of the tournament were present, and their collective enthusiasm for the competition was evident.

During the press conference, Salman Ali Agha, captain of the Pakistan cricket team, expressed confidence in his side’s performance. “We have been playing good cricket for the last four months, and the team is in excellent form,” said Agha. “Our focus is on continuing our momentum and performing well in the tournament.”

He said that all the players are excited for the Asia Cup and for many players it will be the first major tournament. All the players of the national team are ready for the challenge. And they are well aware of the conditions in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Salman Ali Agha said that any team can perform well in the T20 format. And in the T20 format, the team that has a good day wins. The purpose of the tri-nation series was to prepare for the Asia Cup.

On the other hand, Rashid Khan, captain of the Afghanistan cricket team, spoke on the significance of the Asia Cup for his squad. “This tournament is incredibly important for us,” said Khan. “We are preparing diligently, and our team is committed to putting in the hard work required to make an impact.”

Oman cricket team captain said that they are playing the Asia Cup for the first time. While Sri Lankan cricket team captain said that they will try to perform well in the Asia Cup.

Indian cricket team captain Suryakumar Yadav said that the Afghanistan team has performed well in recent days. “And we have also been practicing in Dubai for four days. As a team, we are playing the T20 format after a long time.” He said that the preparation for the Asia Cup is good, adding “When the preparation is good, then confidence follows.”

Bangladesh cricket team captain said that the Bangladesh team has played well in the last three series. “All the teams participating in the Asia Cup are strong. They will have to perform well to advance in the tournament.”

UAE team captain said that they have worked very hard for the Asia Cup, and whether it is Pakistan or India, they will try to perform well.
