ASP Shehrbano likely to head PCB women’s cricket

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly considering former Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi for a key position in Pakistan’s women’s cricket management, following the resignation of Tania Malik from her post.
According to media sources, Shehrbano, who is a police officer and is allocated in the Police Services of Pakistan, is regarded as a strong candidate for the role.
PCB’s chairman, Mohsin Naqvi is reportedly considering her for the role, influenced by her active public service.
Shehrbano Naqvi is currently appointed as PSO(personal staff officer) to federal interior minister Mohsin Naqvi

Shehrbano gained prominence earlier this year when she intervened in a crowded market incident in Lahore’s Ichhra Bazaar, rescuing a woman from an attack.
The incident highlighted her dedication and earned her national recognition.
The leadership role in Pakistan women’s cricket became available after Tania, who had held the position since October 2021, announced her resignation.
The board is now actively searching for a replacement, and Shehrbano is seen as a prime candidate for the job.
