Babar Azam retains title of World’s Top ODI Batsman

DUBAI: Pakistan’s cricket star Babar Azam has once again claimed the top spot in the ICC Men’s ODI Batting Rankings release by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday.

With 809 rating points, Babar Azam continues to shine with an impressive batting average of 56.95 and a strike rate of 88.70 in One-Day Internationals (ODIs).

India’s Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill follow closely behind, holding second and third positions with 765 and 763 points, respectively. No other batter in the ODI format has come close to matching Babar’s remarkable rating points.

In the latest ODI bowlers’ rankings, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan sits at the top of the list, while Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi has slipped to second place after dropping one spot.

Good news for Pakistan’s Saim Ayub, too! Following his stunning unbeaten century against Zimbabwe, Saim has made his way into the top 100 ODI batsmen, securing the 90th position.

ICC Test Rankings

In the ICC Test Batting Rankings, England’s Joe Root remains in first place, with India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal climbing up to second. Kane Williamson from England holds the third spot. Pakistan’s Saud Shakeel has moved up one position to 8th, while India’s Jasprit Bumrah is once again the top-ranked Test bowler, climbing two places. Pakistan’s Nauman Ali maintains his 9th position.

T20 Rankings

Australia’s Travis Head leads the ICC T20 Batting Rankings, with England’s Phil Salt and India’s Tilak Verma in second and third. Meanwhile, England’s Adil Rashid tops the T20 Bowlers’ rankings, followed by Sri Lanka’s Vinindu Harsanga and Australia’s Adam Zampa in second and third places, respectively.

Babar’s continued dominance in the ODI rankings cements his position as one of the world’s best, while Pakistan’s rising stars like Saim Ayub and Saud Shakeel add to the excitement for Pakistani cricket fans.
