BRASILIA: Brazil would annihilate Peru in a 2026 World Cup qualifying match on Tuesday, beating them 4-0, behind two goals from Raphinha.
Raphinha would be the first to score after Brazil were awarded a penalty in the 34th minute of the match after a VAR review.
The penalty came off a handball by Carlos Zambrano, which brought an end to an attack by Igor Jesus. Raphinha would strike the ball with power, but keep it low to the ground, hurtling it into the bottom left corner of Peru’s net.

Peru would give the crowd a sense of déjà vu nearly ten minutes into the second half, conceding another penalty in the 54th minute. The culprit would be Zambrano once again, as the defender took out Savinho inside the box. Raphinha would get his second goal, this time sending the ball into the bottom right corner.
Brazil would continue to dominate, scoring two more goals three minutes apart from each other in the 71st and 74th minute. The first would come from Andreas Pereira who sent a stunning scissor kick into the back of the net, after receiving a perfectly placed cross from Luiz Henrique.
Then Henrique would score a goal of his own shortly after, striking the ball from just beyond the box, sending it into the bottom left corner. It would be the fourth and final goal of the game.
Brazil would win 4-0.
