VANCOUVER: Bangladesh’s legendary all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is set to represent the Montreal Tigers in what promises to be a blockbuster inaugural edition of the Canada Super 60 League.
Set to kick off on October 8, the Super 60 will feature six franchise teams and bring a fresh twist to the fast-paced T10 format. With an impressive roster of international stars already confirmed, the league is poised to make waves on the global T20 circuit.

Shakib will be joined by some of cricket’s biggest names, including Quinton de Kock, Martin Guptill, Moeen Ali, Dawid Malan, Sikandar Raza, Piyush Chawla, and Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
SHAKIB’S RETURN TO FAMILIAR TERRITORY
This isn’t unfamiliar ground for Shakib, who previously donned the Montreal Tigers jersey in Canada’s Global T20 League. Now, with the Tigers reloaded for the Super 60, he will form a formidable unit alongside Josh Brown, Tom Moores, Nick Hobson, Isuru Udana, Andrew Tye, and others.
The Tigers’ squad appears both balanced and dangerous, boasting experience and power-hitters. Experts think that with this formula, the team could very well become early favorites in the competition.
FRANCHISE FOCUS FOR THE VETERAN ALL-ROUNDER
Currently turning out for the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Shakib continues to be one of the most sought-after franchise players in world cricket. He has already appeared in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), and is set to feature in the USA’s Minor League Cricket as well.

However, it’s been a while since fans have seen Shakib in Bangladesh colors. His last appearance came during the Test series against India last year, and since then, his international involvement has taken a backseat in favor of his booming franchise commitments.
