MULTAN: Pakistan skipper Shan Masood continued his beautiful offense after the lunchbreak, making a century as Pakistan neared a total of 200.
37 overs into the game, Pakistan’s captain Shan Masood got himself an early birthday present, as he made a century. It was the fifth of his test career.
Before the lunch break, the Pakistan skipper was able to hit seven fours, hitting a pair of boundaries back to back in the sixteenth over, and two more shortly after in the eighteenth.
He was able to hit three more fours and a pair of sixes on his way to a 100. He did it off just 102 balls. It was his first since August 2020, with his last also being against England in Manchester.
Masood and Shafique lead Pakistan’s charge against England
Abdullah Shafique is also closing in on a century of his own.
Before the break, the Pakistani opener Abdullah Shafique scored 53 runs off 82 deliveries. Shafique hit five fours. Two of those came in the 24th over, which he closed out with a stunning strike for his first six that cleared the long on boundary by some distance.
He’s hit three more fours, to bring his total to 69 runs off 117 balls.
Pakistan currently sits at 178 for 1.
