Champions Trophy preparations: Gaddafi Stadium upgradation nears completion

LAHORE: The upgradation project of Gaddafi Stadium is in its final stages, with basement construction nearing completion and trench excavation finished. The forests in front of the enclosures have also been cleared as part of the renovations.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi visited the stadium to review the ongoing development. He inspected the progress inside and outside the stadium, including the enclosures, boxes, trench, and basement areas.

Naqvi emphasised the importance of adhering to the project timeline, stating, “Every moment is precious when it comes to an upgrade project.” He issued directives for the installation of a digital scoreboard at a suitable location to enhance the experience for cricket fans, and also called for the provision of lift facilities to the basement.
He assured that the stadium’s upgradation will be completed before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The project director from the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) briefed Naqvi on the progress, while PCB Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer, Director of Infrastructure, Director of Domestic Cricket, Senior General Manager Infrastructure, representatives from Nespak, and FWO officials were also present.
