PML-Q denies reports of Chaudhry Shujaat’s election as PBBF chairman

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) has clarified that party President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has not become the chairman of the Pakistan Bodybuilding Federation (PBBF).

According to PML-Q spokesperson Mustafa Malik, yesterday Chaudhry Shujaat had met with the PBBF’s president along with party Secretary General Tariq Hassan. Likely, the reports of the party president’s election sprung from there.

The spokesperson said that Chaudhry Shujaat had been the president of the Pakistan Kabaddi Federation, while Chaudhry Shafi Hussain is now the president of the Pakistan Kabaddi Federation. He added that Chaudhry Shujaat and his family have always played a prominent role in the promotion of sports.

Yesterday, the news broke of PML-Q Chairman and former Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain was elected as the new President of the Pakistan Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (PBBF) on Saturday.

Earlier in the day, the newly elected PBBF chief met federation president Tariq Hassan and secretary Sohail Anwar, congratulating them on Pakistan’s historic achievements at the Asian Bodybuilding Championship, held in Thailand from August 5 to 24.

Pakistan secured five gold medals across various categories at the championship. The medal-winning athletes include Farasat Ali, Ajaz Ahmad, Faizan Gul, Bilal Ahmed, and Shakeel Ahmad.

These athletes competed in events such as the Junior 75kg, Masters Category, Sports Physique Division, and the 180cm and 182cm height categories.

Secretary Sohail praised the Chaudhary’s appointment as a positive step, adding that it would mark the beginning of a new era for bodybuilding in Pakistan.
