Cleveland Cavaliers continue historic winning streak

CLEVELAND: After defeating the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday night, the Cleveland Cavaliers brought their record to 15-0.
The 2024-25 Cavaliers team etched their name into history after beating the Hornets for their 15th win, becoming only the fourth team in NBA history to begin a season 15-0.
Four players had over 20 points on the Cavaliers, including Darius Garland who led the charge with 25, followed by Ty Jerome, Evan Mobley, and Jarret Allen. With those four leading the charge, Cleveland beat Charlotte 128-114 in spite of LaMelo Ball’s 31 points for the Hornets.

The Cavaliers were without their star player, Donovan Mitchell, who has been leading the team as the 28-year old shooting guard has been averaging 24.6 points per game in the season so far. Garland is close behind, averaging 21.4 points per game.
Cleveland find themselves at the top of the Eastern conference with their flawless record, with second place being occupied by their next opponents. The Boston Celtics. When the Cavaliers and the Celtics collide on Tuesday November 19, it will be the first time in 29 years that the defending NBA champions face a team on a 15-0 winning streak.
Tuesday’s game will be Cleveland’s second of the NBA cup, giving them an opportunity to equal the Atlanta Hawks 2-0 start to the in season tournament, before the two teams face each other on November 29. The Hawks are currently at the top of East: Group C.
