Curry and Dame clash, Warriors beat Bucks

MILWAUKEE: Stephen Curry and Damian Lillard both had fantastic performances on Monday night, as the Warriors and Bucks clashed for the first time this season at the Fiserv Forum.
Stephen Curry had 38 points in the 34 minutes he played. He made 12 field goals, six of which came from deep on a clip of 37.5 per cent. The newest addition to the Warriors roster, Jimmy Butler, made the second largest contribution for Golden State, adding 20 points to their total. Warriors’ rookie Quentin Post had a total of 13 points, nine of which came from threes. Buddy Hield had 16 points and Moses Moody had 13.
Giannis Antetokounmpo was missing from the Milwaukee line-up, leaving Lillard to spearhead the offence. He scored 38 points in the 39 minutes he played. Out of his 12 made baskets, three came from deep on a three-point percentage of 33.3. Similarly to the Warriors, it was the Bucks’ latest acquisition, Kyle Kuzma, who made the second largest contribution, scoring 21 points. Taurean Prince had 19 points, 15 of which came from his five threes.

The Game
Curry and Lillard began their duel immediately. The former would hit three threes in the frame, along with a couple of free throws, while the latter found the majorit of his scucces just a few steps inside the arc.
Buddy Hield lead scoring in the second quarter for the Warriors, making four field goals including a trey. Lillard would do the same, as well as an additional free throw. The Bucks would equalise thanks to a couple makes from deep by Taurean Prince, a couple dunks from Andre Jackson Jr., and five points from Lillard. Despite Curry’s best efforts to hold the lead, hitting a three from the right wing, the Bucks found themselves ahead a minute later after AJ Green hit a step back three pointer from the right corner. Butler would then take control, scoring six points in quick succession, allowing the Warriors to end the frame ahead, 89 – 83. Curry finished the quarter with 12 points, while Butler had nine. Lillard had 11.
Lillard made three baskets in the fourth, including one three, and two free throws, for a total of nine points. However, it was Kuzma leading the scoring for the Bucks in the quarter, as he made a total of 13 points, seven of which came from free throws. Despite Lillard and Kuzma’s best efforts, the Bucks couldn’t outdo the Warriors. Golden State hit five threes in the final frame, three of which came from rookie Quentin Post who had a total of 11 points in the quarter. Curry hit the other two, as well as a driving layup and three free throws, for a total of 11 points in the quarter.
The Warriors won 125 – 111. The Warriors now find themselves placed 10th in the Western Conference.
