LAHORE: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) got its first international sign up on Tuesday and it was England’s David Willey.

Willey has previously played two seasons of the PSL, in 2022 and 2024, both with the Multan Sultans. During his tenure in Pakistan, he has taken 28 wickets. His best bowling performance came against the Quetta Gladiators on March 12, 2024, when he took three wickets, while conceding 22 runs in four overs.

Earlier, the PCB announced the pick order for the player draft, announcing that the Lahore Qalandars will get the first pick, while the Karachi Kings take second, and the Quetta Gladiators take third. Peshawar Zalmi will take fourth, while Willey’s former team, the Sultans will take fifth. The reigning champions, Islamabad United, will take the sixth pick. The order will be reversed for the second round of the platinum category.
In 2024, Willey was in the platinum category and was the first pick of the draft. With Multan having the second last pick in the first round, Willey may join a different team for the first time.
