England women’s team thrash Pakistan in third ODI


CHELMSFORD: In the third one-day international (ODI), the England women’s team defeated their Pakistani counterparts by a wide margin of 178 runs.

The England women’s team is now leading the series with a 2-0 win rate.

Nat Sciver-Brunt’s all-round performance earned her the player of the match award, as she scored an unbeaten century and claimed two wickets.

Pakistan women’s team struggled to chase the target England set, managing only 124 runs before being all out in just 29.1 overs!

England won the toss and chose to bat first. The European team posted a total of 302 at the loss of five wickets in their 50 overs. Sciver-Brunt scored an unbeaten 124, while Danni Wyatt and Alice Capsey scored 44 and 39 respectively.

In response, Pakistan found it difficult to chase the target, with only Muneeba Ali and Aliya Riaz putting up any fight. Muneeba Ali scored 47, just three runs shy of a half century.

Meanwhile, English bowlers Lauren Bell took two wickets as expense of 26 runs in her allotted five overs. Sophie Ecclestone’s three wickets and Sciver-Brunt ‘s two wickets kept Pakistani battling lineup under immense pressure.

The Pakistani batting lineup collapsed under pressure, crumbling in less than 30 overs like a house of cards.
