Feb 5 birthday bash: Ronaldo marks 40, Neymar kicks off 33

WEB DESK: Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the greatest soccer players to have ever played the game, turns 40 today (February 5).
And as if to underline that he is far from finished, Ronaldo scored twice in Al Nassr’s 4-0 win against Al Wasl in the Asian Champions League Group B clash on Monday as he celebrated his 700th career club victory.
The win was also Ronaldo’s 66th since joining the Saudi Pro League in December 2022.
The Portuguese star has now netted 135 international goals, 450 for Real Madrid, 145 for Manchester United, 101 for Juventus and 81 for his current club Al Nassr as well as five for his first club Sporting Lisbon.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner, with a career total of 923 goals, is 77 short of the 1000 milestone.
Neymar Jr. also celebrates his birthday bash today. From captaining Brazil to their first Olympic gold medal in 2016 to his legendary friendship with Kobe Bryant, Neymar has consistently been an inspiration, on and off the field. According to some media reports, Neymar has a tattoo of Kobe’s quotes.
Known as much for his skill as for his style, this heartthrob footballer began from Santos FC before moving to Barcelona in 2013. What happened after that with the lethal trio of Messi, Suarez and Neymar is one for the history books.
