The France vs Italy match began at the 8:45 pm Central European Time, and the hosts shot off to an explosive start. France scored the first goal just 13 seconds into the match, with forward Barcola capitalising on a defensive error from Italy’s Di Lorenzo.

Barcola sprinted down the pitch and expertly finished past the Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma towards the net. The goal marks the fastest in the history both, the French national team and the Nations League.

As the crowd went into a frenzy, France maintained a high tempo, creating several opportunities to extend their lead. However, as the half wore on, Italy decided to change gears.

The Italians finally found some footing, when Federico Dimarco leveled the goal with a volley. The goal was set up by a clever back-heel flick from Sandro Tonali, allowing Dimarco to strike from inside the box. This left the French goalkeeper Mike Maignan with no place to maneuver.

As the match continues, both teams are determined to give their best and win the opener for their side. Italy’s Tonali has in particular been playing really well, controlling the ball and keeping the pressure on France.

Meanwhile, the hosts are keen to keep the lead and take home a win.
