LAHORE: The Gaddafi Stadium has been prepared for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025, in a never-seen before style.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi took a keen interest in the project, which resulted in the completion of construction and decoration in a record time of five months.
PCB said in a statement that the chairman has been personally overseeing the timely completion of the construction work of the stadium. The renovated Gaddafi Stadium now rivals other world-class stadiums around the globe.
The stadium has been professionally designed so that fans, media, players and officials can enjoy every moment of the game to the fullest. The installation of chairs in the stands is in the final stage.
One digital screen installation is complete, and the second will also be completed in a few days.
The floodlight towers will now be illuminated with new bulbs, which will be a beautiful sight for the fans.
It is hoped that after all the work is completed in the next ten days, the stadium will be handed over to the PCB administration so that preparations can be made for the tri-series.
Before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the Gaddafi Stadium will also host the tri-series matches of Pakistan, New Zealand and South Africa.
The first match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at the Gaddafi Stadium will be played on February 22 between the two traditional cricket rivals England and Australia.
