Haaland ties Ronaldo record as Man City draws against Arsenal

MANCHESTER: Haaland scored his 100th Manchester City goal in his 105th match for the club in a draw against Arsenal, tying Cristiano Ronaldo’s record in Real Madrid.
The draw took City to the top of the Premier League table, taking 13 points in five games.
Manchester City looked to be in store for their first loss of the season despite a ninth minute goal from Erling Haaland which tied the record for the fastest man to score 100 goals for a European club.
After a 22nd minute goal from Italian defender Riccardo Calafiorni in his debut, the score was level 1-1. Things soon got even better for the Gunners as Gabriel Magalhães scored at the end of the first half in stoppage time.

Things looked to being going Arsenal’s way heading into the break, but controversy struck before the were able to return to their locker room. A second yellow card for Leandro meant he wouldn’t be returning to the pitch in the second half.
Arsenal were down to 10 men hoping to defend the oncoming onslaught from City. The Gunners only managed one shot in the second half as City dominated possession, hitting 28 shots Arsenal’s way, with only seven on target.
City were becoming desperate as Arsenal inched closer to a win in the closing moments of the match. Seven minutes of stoppage time were added to Arsenal’s dismay, at the end of which John Stones forced the ball through the resulting havoc of a corner kick in the last minute.
