ISLAMABAD: The T20 World Cup second semi-final between India and England (IND vs ENG) is scheduled to take place at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on June 27, but heavy rain is forecasted, threatening to disrupt the match.
India remains unbeaten in the T20 World Cup 2024, while England suffered a loss to Australia during the group stages.
The four semi-finalists of the tournament are India, England, South Africa, and Afghanistan. Notably, Afghanistan reached their first-ever semi-final in an ICC event by defeating Bangladesh in their final Super 8 match.

The upcoming India vs. England match is highly anticipated, especially as it serves as a rematch of the 2022 T20 World Cup semi-final where Jos Buttler’s team handed India a crushing 10-wicket defeat by chasing down a 169-run target in just 16 overs. Rohit Sharma and his team are eager for revenge, but the weather may not cooperate.
The match is set to start at 10:30 AM local time, with an official end time of 1:40 PM. There is no reserve day for the semi-final, but an additional 250 minutes have been allocated in case of rain delays, extending the possible match time to 5:50 PM.
Here’s the weather forecast for Guyana on June 27:
10 AM: 60% chance of rain
11 AM: 68% chance of rain
12 PM: 49% chance of rain
1 PM: 35% chance of rain
2 PM: 38% chance of rain
3 PM: 42% chance of rain
4 PM: 51% chance of rain
5 PM: 47% chance of rain
6 PM: 36% chance of rain
Both teams need to play at least 10 overs for the match to have a result. If the match is washed out, India will advance to the final due to their unbeaten record in the group stage.
Interestingly, if any other team besides India had topped Group 1 of the Super 8, their semi-final would have been held in Trinidad. The match will start at 10:30 AM local time, making it convenient for the Indian audience to watch.
