WEB DESK: Cricket fans are gearing up for one of the most entertaining events on the calendar as the Hong Kong Sixes 2025 returns from November 7 to 9 at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground. Known for its explosive format and thrilling finishes, the tournament promises three days of non-stop cricketing action featuring some of the biggest names and emerging stars from around the world. Pakistan made it to the finals in the last edition to lose to Sri Lanka.
After making a strong comeback last year following a seven-year break, this year’s edition will feature 12 international teams, divided into four pools.
- Pool A: South Africa, Afghanistan, Nepal
- Pool B: Australia, England, UAE
- Pool C: India, Pakistan, Kuwait
- Pool D: Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, China
Defending champions Sri Lanka will look to retain their title, while traditional powerhouses South Africa and England, who each hold five titles, will aim to add another trophy to their record.

The Hong Kong Sixes has a rich legacy dating back to 1992, having hosted cricket legends such as Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Sanath Jayasuriya and Shane Warne. The format, designed for maximum entertainment, features matches of five six-ball overs per side — with the final extended to five eight-ball overs. Each team consists of just six players, ensuring aggressive batting, quick bowling changes and intense gameplay.

Cricket Hong Kong has partnered with Sony Sports Network as the official broadcast sponsor. Matches will be telecast live on Sony Sports channels and streamed on SonyLIV, with additional coverage available on the Cricket Hong Kong YouTube channel.
With the return of this iconic six-a-side spectacle, fans can expect a weekend of explosive boundaries, short matches and high-octane rivalries, including the much-anticipated India vs Pakistan clash on the opening day.
