DUBAI: The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 is just around the corner, and the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the schedule for the warm-up fixtures on Thursday, setting the stage for the main event..

The warm-up matches are set to span six days, from May 27 to June 1, across venues in the United States (US) and Trinidad and Tobago. 17 teams will participate, with matches taking place at Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium, Broward County Stadium, Queen’s Park Oval, and Brian Lara Cricket Academy.

Kicking off on May 27, cricket will come to the state of Texas, United States (US) as Canada will on Nepal at the Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in the morning. Meanwhile, across the seas in Trinidad and Tobago, Oman will clash with Papua New Guinea at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.

Meanwhile, Namibia will face off against Uganda in another fixture at the same venue later in the evening.

The next day, Sri Lanka and the Netherlands will lock horns at the Broward County Stadium in Florida, US. Meanwhile, Bangladesh will square off against the US in Grand Prairie, Texas.

Over at Trinidad and Tobago, Australia will duke it out with Namibia in the evening at the Queen’s Park Oval.

South Africa will engage in an intra-squad clash at the Broward County Stadium on May 29. Meanwhile, Afghanistan takes on Oman at the Queen’s Park Oval.

May 30 will feature a series of interesting matchups across different venues. Nepal will face off against the US at the Grand Prairie in Texas. Later that day, the Netherlands and Canada will go head-to-head in another fixture.

Meanwhile,Scotland will take on Uganda at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad and Tobago.

As the warm-up fixtures progress, May 31 will see Ireland and Sri Lanka clash at the Broward County Stadium. Scotland will confront Afghanistan at the Queen’s Park Oval.

The first day of June will witness neighbours Bangladesh and India square off at a venue to be confirmed in the US. With both teams boasting formidable line-ups, South Asian cricket fans can expect to see a good showdown.
