DUBAI/LAHORE: The International Cricket Council (ICC) might meet again today in Dubai. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi decided to extend his stay in Dubai for the same purposes, PCB said.
Sources say that a new formula is under consideration to end the deadlock between India and Pakistan on ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Pakistan values its honor and dignity more than money, sources said, adding that, the new formula is aiming to come up with a decision on the basis of equality to resolve the issue.
Pakistan wants the new formula to be decided for at least three years, sources said.
The new formula will not be applicable only to the Champions Trophy, but it will also extend to all ICC events for the next three years.
PAKISTAN-INDIA DEADLOCK
India has refused to send its national team to Pakistan, who is hosting the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy. In response, Pakistan has issued an ultimatum that if India continues its stubbornness, then Pakistan will not play against India on any international platform, including T20 World Cup 2026.
If India and Pakistan do not play each other in the tournament, it would amount to substantial losses for the broadcasters, and in turn will impact ICC as well.
So far no breakthrough has been achieved over this issue.
