ICC releases new T20 rankings: India tops, Pakistan Slips

DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the latest T20 rankings, revealing significant shifts among the top cricketing nations and players following the recent World Cup.
World Cup champions India have ascended to the top of the ICC T20 rankings, solidifying their dominance in the shortest format of the game. Australia follows closely in second place, while England secures the third position.
In a notable development, West Indies have claimed the fourth spot, South Africa stands at sixth, and Pakistan has slipped to seventh place in the team rankings.
Batting Rankings
Australia’s Travis Head has emerged as the top-ranked batter, showcasing his consistent performance. India’s Suryakumar Yadav holds the second position, further cementing his reputation as a T20 stalwart. England’s Phil Salt is ranked third, with Pakistan’s Babar Azam closely following in fourth place. Mohammad Rizwan of Pakistan is fifth, and England’s Jos Buttler is in sixth position.
Bowling Rankings
England’s Adil Rashid leads the pack in the T20 bowling rankings, demonstrating his prowess with the ball. South Africa’s Anrich Nortje is placed second, while Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan occupy the third and fourth positions, respectively. Australia’s Josh Hazlewood is ranked fifth, and West Indies’ Akeal Hosein is sixth.
India’s Jasprit Bumrah has made a remarkable leap, climbing 12 places to secure the 12th spot. Conversely, Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi has dropped two places, now standing at 17th.
All-Rounders Rankings
In the all-rounders’ category, India’s Hardik Pandya has claimed the top position, reflecting his all-around capabilities. Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga is second, and Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza is third. Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan is fourth, while Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi is ranked fifth. Pakistan’s Imad Wasim holds the 11th spot among the all-rounders.
