Pakistan to play India on Saturday in ACC T20 Cup

Al Amarat: The Pakistan Shaheens will play India A on Thursday in a group stage match in the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup.

The tournament, which has historically been played in the ODI format, switched to the T20 format for the first time in 2024. The first two matches were played on Friday in Oman, with Hong Kong facing off against Bangladesh A and Afghanistan A taking on Sri Lanka A.

Pakistan is in Group B of the tournament, which also includes India A, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates. Group A includes Afghanistan A, Bangladesh A, Hong Kong, and Sri Lanka A.

Pakistan will be led by wicket keeper Mohammad Harris, who led Pakistan to victory last year after the boys in green took down India A by a whopping 128 runs in the final.

The 23-year-old has played six ODI’s for Pakistan, scoring a total of 30 runs across them. He’s found more success in List A cricket, scoring over a 1100 runs across 43 innings, including a century and eight fifties.

After the first contest against India A, Pakistan will play against Oman on October 21, followed by a match against the UAE on October 23.

The final four will both play their semi-final games on October 25, before the best two compete in the final on October 26.
