India vs Bangladesh: Men in Blue crush Tigers by 50 runs

NORTH SOUND: In India vs Bangladesh clash on Saturday, the Men in Blue effectively knocked out the Tigers out of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 by defeating them by 50 runs.
In the 47th match of the tournament held at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua and Barbuda, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Indian batters thrashed their eastern neighbours. The Men in Blue scored nearly two centuries, a score more common in an ODI match than a T20. Pretty impressive!
Hardik Pandya reigned supreme, scoring a half-century for his side off just 27 balls, and remaining unbeaten—a stellar performance that earned him the player of the match award.
Virat Kohli followed with 37 runs off 28 balls, while Rishabh Pant scored one run short of Kohli’s.
Bangladesh bowlers tried hard, but they were no match for the Indian batting lineup. Tanzim Hasan Sakib took two wickets, though he conceded 32 runs in his allotted four overs.
Similarly, Rishad Hossain clinched 2 wickets as well but conceded a whopping 43 runs in just three overs. Shakib al Hasan also gave away 37 runs in his three overs, although he managed to take one wicket.
India posted a total of 196 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.The Men in Blue set Bangladesh an extremely hard target of 197 runs to chase.
To their credit, Bangladesh performed credibly, reaching 146 runs. However, it was at a loss of 8 wickets before the overs ran out. Najmul Hossain Shanto top-scored with 40 runs for his team off 32 balls. Tanzid Hasan contributed 29 runs off 31 balls, while Rishad Hossain scored 24 runs off just 10 balls.
The Indian bowlers matched the fierce performance of their batting counterparts. Kuldeep Yadav was exceptional, taking three wickets while conceding only 19 runs in his allotted 4 overs.
Similarly, Jasprit Bumrah claimed two wickets and gave away just 14 runs in his 4 overs. Arshdeep Singh also contributed with two wickets, though he conceded 30 runs in his 4 overs.
In addition to his batting heroics, Hardik Pandya also took a wicket but conceded 32 runs in his three overs.

Following the India vs Bangladesh match, the former has jumped to the top of Group 1 in the points table of the Super 8 round.
Next up, Afghanistan will face one of the most formidable teams, Australia, at 5:30 am Pakistan Standard Time (PST). This will be followed by the United States taking on England at 7:30 am PST on Sunday (today).
