INGLEWOOD: James Harden became the second all-time three-point scorer on Sunday night, after hitting two shots from deep in a win against the Utah Jazz.
Going into Sunday’s game against the Utah Jazz, Harden was tied for second place with Ray Allen, after the Los Angeles Clippers shooting guard made three shots from beyond the arc in a loss to the Houston Rockets on November 15.
Against the Jazz, Harden shot a 25 per cent clip from deep, hitting only two of his eight shots from three. Despite the less than stellar shooting performance, Harden now sits at number two on the NBA all time three-point leader board with 2975 three pointers made. He has attempted 8195 shots from deep, giving him a three-point percentage of 36.3.
Cleveland Cavaliers continue historic winning streak
The 35-year-old star sits right above Ray Allen, who shot 40 per cent from three, making 2973 shots from deep in his 7429 attempts. However, sitting in first place is the Golden State Warrior’s Stephen Curry. Widely considered to be the greatest shooter of all time, the 36-yaer-old point guard has made a staggering 3782 three pointers on 8886 attempts, giving him an incredible three-point percentage of 42.6.
Harden scored 20 points on Sunday, and has averaged 20.7 points per game in the season so far. He has led the Los Angeles Clippers to only 7 wins out of the 14 games they have played so far. The Clippers have struggled due to the absence of their star player, Kawhi Leonard, who has been side-lined for the entire season with a right knee injury.
