He expressed his appreciation during a meeting with the team’s captain, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and star bowler, Shahnawaz Dahani.

In an official statement, the PCB remarked, “The PCB Chairman congratulated Karachi Whites for winning the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2023-24 and hailed the leadership qualities of their captain Sarfaraz Ahmed while also appreciating the performance of fast bowler Shahnawaz Dahani.”

Karachi Whites clinched their fifth Quaid-e-Azam Trophy title by defeating Faisalabad at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The team secured a commanding victory, prevailing by 456 runs on the final day of the five-day final match.

The final batter to be dismissed was Faheem Ashraf, the captain of Faisalabad, who was caught off the bowling of Ghulam Mudassar. This moment sparked celebrations for the Sarfaraz Ahmed-led team, which walked away with a substantial cash prize of Rs10 million.

Karachi Whites’ previous Quaid-e-Azam Trophy victory dates back to the 2001-02 season when they triumphed over Peshawar in the final by eight wickets. Prior to that, they achieved a remarkable hat-trick of titles in the 1990-91, 1991-92, and 1992-93 seasons.

Saim Ayub of Karachi Whites, who displayed an exceptional performance with innings of 203 in the first and 109 in the second, was awarded the “Player of the Final.”

Sarfaraz Ahmed, the captain of the victorious team who contributed significantly with 697 runs and 28 dismissals, was rightfully named the “Player of the Tournament.”

From Faisalabad, Khurram Shahzad, with 36 wickets in eight matches, and Ali Shan, with 28 catches and one stumping, were recognized as the “Best Bowler” and “Best Wicket-Keeper” of the tournament, respectively.
