DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, is set to attend the closing ceremony of the Fourth Derajat Off Road Jeep Challenge on April 20.

A spokesperson for the Chief Minister confirmed that the ceremony will not only celebrate the participants but also highlight the region’s potential as a tourist destination.
The jeep rally has attracted motorsport enthusiasts and adrenaline junkies alike. Previous rallies, such as the Cholistan Desert Jeep Rally, paved the way for similar events across the country.
The success of previous rallies probably encouraged the KP government to organise similar competitions, aiming to put the terrorism-wrecked province on the global tourism map.
Around 100 participants, including men and women from across the country and some foreign sports persons, took part in the event, which will run from April 17 till April 20.
The Fourth Derajat Off Road Jeep Challenge featured several categories, including ‘Stock’, ‘Women’, ‘Local’, and ‘Professional’ categories. Notable racers that participated include Nadir Magsi, Sahibzada Sultan, Deena Patel, Zain Mehmood, Roni Patel, Tusna Patel, and Salma Marwat.
The rally route started from Yarik Interchange along the CPEC motorway and covered a 100 kilometre track, with several spectator points and camps set up at specific distances along the route.
