Lahore Qalandars coach sheds light on the team’s poor performance

LAHORE: In the recent match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) ninth season on Tuesday between the Lahore Qalandars against Multan Sultans, the former faced its sixth successive loss.

Multan Sultans secured a victory with a lead of 60 runs, as the beleaguered  Qalandars failed to chase the Sultans’ imposing score of 215 runs. The Qalandars only managed to scrap 154 runs before falling in just 17 overs.

Throughout the game, Lahore Qalandars encountered difficulties in their bowling and fielding departments. Despite Shaheen Shah Afridi’s efforts when he clinched two wickets, the team’s bowling lacked consistency. This allowed Multan Sultans to score significant runs.

Following the sixth loss, the team coach Aaqib Javed voiced his disappointment. He pointed out that the team struggled to find the right balance and support for key players like Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Javed also lamented the absence of Abdullah Shafiq that has weakened the  Qalandars’ line-up and impacted their performance.

With six losses trailing them in PSL 9, prospects of winning for the team look bleak.
