First half lacked clear chances

Madrid press after goal

After taking the lead, Real pushed hard for a second goal. Arda Guler hit a shot over the bar. Mbappe continued to cause problems for Osasuna’s defense with his runs. However, the away side stayed compact to block further chances.

Courtois and defense

Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was not heavily tested but dealth confidently with all threats. Centre-back Eder Militao and Dean Hujisen held firm, composed.

Midfield efforts

Midfielder Aurelian Tchouameni controlled the tempo well and helped protect the defense. Federico Velverde focused mostly on defensive duties. Arda Guler improved his performance after the break, making key interceptions and helping Real control the game.

Attackers struggled to break through

Brahim Diaz found it hard to influence the game, often cutting inside instead of holding width on the right. Vinicius Junior worked hard both offensively and defensively but lacked sharpens in front of goal.

Subs to the rescue

Meanwhile, Franco Mastantuono came on and made an immediate impact, delivering a precise corner and linking well in attack. Dani Carvajal similarly did his part when introduced.
