LAHORE: Pakistani cricketers Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim have signed contracts with Northern Superchargers for the ongoing edition of The Hundred league in England. Both players join the squad as replacements.
Northern Superchargers are a franchise 100-ball cricket side based in the English city of Leeds. The team represents the areas of North East England and Yorkshire in The Hundred competition, which first took place in 2021.

Mohammad Amir has replaced Australian pacer Ben Dwarshuis, while Imad Wasim comes in for New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner. Imad will be available for four matches between August 7 and 10.
No Pakistani player was initially part of the competition, and there were reports that the reason for that was Indian ownership of the board. However, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had denied claims suggesting franchise owners avoid selecting Pakistan players due to ownership ties with Indian stakeholders.
