Mohammad Haris soars in ICC rankings following Bangladesh series

WEB DESK: Pakistan’s Mohammad Haris rose 210 places to his new batting ranking of 30 in the shortest format following an impressive performance in Pakistan’s whitewash of Bangladesh.

Haris’ 107 off 46 in the third and final match between the two nations was not only the best batting performance of the series, but also allowed the batter to finish as the series top run scorer. Together with his knocks of 31 and 41 in the first and second contest respectively, Haris scored a total of 179 runs across the three matches. He now has a rating of 580.

Close behind was Hasan Nawaz, who made 121 runs in the series. His best knock came in the second match when he scored an unbeaten 51 off 26. Nawaz’s new rating of 540 propelled him 51 places over the competition to his new ranking of 45th in the format.

Salman Ali Agha also rose 42 places and is now ranked 75th with a rating of 430.

In the T20 bowling rankings, Abbas Afridi rose 18 places to sit alongside Haris Rauf and Anrich Nortje at 19th. All three have a rating of 605.

Shadab Khan’s impressive performance, which saw him score 55 runs and take four wickets across the three matches, allowed him to rise 10 places to his new spot at 14th in the all-rounder rankings. He has a rating of 141.
