Naseem Shah parts ways with Quetta Gladiators ahead of PSL 2024

ISLAMABAD: Quetta Gladiators’ right-arm fast bowler Naseem Shah is set to sever ties with the franchise for the upcoming ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), citing personal reasons for his departure.

Media reports indicate significant interest from both Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi in acquiring Shah’s services for the forthcoming PSL season.

Talks surrounding Shah’s potential move to either team are gaining momentum, with speculation suggesting his participation in the drafting process or involvement in a trade deal.

Meanwhile, during a PSL 8 match earlier this year between Quetta Gladiators and Lahore Qalandars, Shah displayed visible frustration, prompting discontent among fans. The dissatisfaction fueled calls for his change of franchise in the upcoming season.

It’s noteworthy that Naseem Shah sustained an injury during the Asia Cup, subsequently ruling him out of the ICC World Cup 2023. Following the injury, the fast bowler underwent shoulder surgery in October and is currently undergoing rehabilitation.
