Nearly $8,000,000 prize money for women’s T20 World Cup

Women T20 World Cup

DUBAI:  Record-breaking prize money is up for grabs at the women’s T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates, with opening day on October 3 featuring two matches beginning with a bout between Bangladesh and Scotland and ending with a bout between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Following the ICC’s commitment in July of 2023 that all future men’s and women’s competition would receive equal prize money, the winners of the 2024 women’s T20 World Cup will receive 2.34 million, nearly equal to India’s 2.45 million they received in June. This is a 134 per cent increase from the $1 million Australia was awarded in 2023.
