ISLAMABAD: In a significant milestone for the world of sports, an inaugural event heralding a collaborative effort between the Pakistan Fencing Federation and the Martial Arts Promoting Foundation unfolded in Islamabad on October 22.
The event not only celebrated this promising partnership but also witnessed an enthusiastic turnout of attendees who were captivated by the sport of fencing.
Advocate Hamad Ahmed Jan executed a mutual training agreement. The agreement was formalized between Islamabad Fencing Association General Secretary Noman Naseer and Martial Arts Promoting Foundation representatives Qamar Nadeem and Adnan Ali.
The event was hosted at the Academy of Martial Arts Foundation, a facility nestled within the Multi Sports Arena G-11/3 in Islamabad.
Both young boys and girls were provided with fundamental training in the art of fencing. Additionally, they were introduced to the intricacies of the sport, including its rules and regulations, by none other than Hamza Naseer, a gold medalist fencer at the 34th National Games.
Beyond promoting fencing as a captivating sport, the event also shed light on the role of fencing in the context of scholarship opportunities, both at local and international universities. Furthermore, it emphasized the potential for securing employment opportunities within Pakistani institutions based on fencing skills.
Pakistan Fencing Federation General Secretary Usman Ahmed extended his heartfelt congratulations to all the officials who played an integral role in establishing this framework for fencing training within martial arts academies in Islamabad, under the aegis of the Martial Arts Promoting Foundation.
He expressed the Federation’s commitment to nurturing athletes at both the national and international levels, with the ultimate goal of seeing these athletes effectively represent Pakistan in the upcoming Olympic Games.
