KARACHI: Pakistan secured their third consecutive victory at the Over 40s Global Cup in Karachi, defeating Australia.

According to Geo, facing off against the Australian team in their third group stage match on Friday, the Green Team were tasked with chasing a target of 200 runs after the Kangaroos were dismissed by Pakistani bowlers in an impressive performance.

The Men in Green easily achieved their target, with Hassan Raza, Tariq Haroon, and Mohammad Ilyas all scoring half-centuries. Ilyas and Raza contributed 59 runs, while Haroon added 56 runs to the home side’s total. The Australian bowlers struggled to break through Pakistan’s resilient batting lineup as they chased down the target in the 43rd over.

As per the reports, Australia had batted first, posting a total of 199 runs before being bowled out by Pakistan’s bowlers. Steve Paulsen led the scoring for the visitors with 65 runs, while Tim Bott and Chris Dickson contributed 30 and 23 runs, respectively.

Meanwhile, during Over 40s Global Cup Pak vs Australia, Pakistan’s Imran Ali took three wickets, and both Kashif Siddique and Waqas Ali secured two wickets each for Pakistan.

Notably, Pakistan had previously recorded an impressive 248-run victory against Nepal, with an all-round performance by the Green Shirts. Pakistan amassed a massive total of 384 runs in 45 overs, and in response, Nepal was bowled out for just 134 runs in 36.3 overs, falling significantly short of the target.

Prior to the match, the Pakistan team had clinched a thrilling victory against the United States of America (USA) by a narrow one-wicket margin, marked by standout performances, particularly from Pakistan’s Tassavur Abbas, who emerged as the hero of the day.
