Pakistan beat India to reach Asian U-16 volleyball final

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan qualified for the final of the Asian Under-16 Volleyball Championship after defeating arch-rivals India in straight sets in the semi-final on Friday.
Pakistan will face Iran in the final tomorrow (Saturday).
The national team dominated the match, winning the first three sets with scores of 16-19, 25-25, and 12-25 to secure their place in the title clash.

The championship is being held in Thailand, where Pakistan’s U-16 team remains unbeaten so far.
In their earlier matches, they overpowered South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, and Iran.

India, on the other hand, had suffered a defeat against Japan in the classification round before facing Pakistan.
Pakistan head coach Kafiatullah said the junior team’s six-match winning streak proves that the country’s youth has the talent and strength to compete at the highest levels.
PM Congratulates volleyball team
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated the national under-16 volleyball team for reaching the final of the Asian Under-16 Volleyball Championship.
He expressed his pleasure over Pakistan’s winning streak, noting that the team remained undefeated throughout the tournament. “The entire nation is proud of its youth,” he said.

The prime minister also expressed satisfaction over Pakistan’s victory against their arch-rivals. “It is a pleasure to defeat India in the semi-finals and qualify for the final.”
