Pakistan clinches silver at World Beach Kabbadi Championship


Pakistan’s kabaddi team secured the silver medal at the inaugural World Beach Kabaddi Championship, which took place in Bandar Anzali, Iran.

BANDAR ANZALI: Pakistan’s kabaddi team secured the silver medal at the inaugural World Beach Kabaddi Championship, which took place in Bandar Anzali, Iran.

The tournament ran from September25 till September 30 and featured a diverse lineup of teams.

Players from Pakistan, Nepal, Turkmenistan, Denmark, Kenya, Palestine, Germany, Iran and Lebanon among other participated.

The final match saw Pakistan go head-to-head with the host nation , Iran. Despite a commendation effort, the South Asian team was unable to clinch the title.

Iran  won the match by a score of 41-32.

The final was a display of intense competition, showcasing the skills and prowess of both finalists.

Pakistan’s path to the finals was marked by great performances, particularly in the semifinals, where they defeated Iraq with an impressive scoreline of 58-21.

Meanwhile, Iran’s route to the finals included victories against Nepal, Turkmenistan and Denmark during the group stage. Followed by a semifinal win over the formidable Kenya.

The Persians won the semis with a strong score of 49-30.

Pakistani kabaddi team trained at the Pakistan Sports Complex intensely for the maiden World Beach Kabaddi Championship. They were supervised by the Pakistan Kabaddi Federation.
